Privacy Policy
DoseTracker was designed around a simple idea: your health log is yours. The app works without an account, without your email, and without your name. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles, where it lives, and how you can delete it.
1. Summary
- No account, no email, no name. We do not ask who you are.
- Your logs are stored on your device and backed up to our cloud under an anonymous identifier.
- We do not sell data. We do not show ads. We do not use third-party advertising or marketing SDKs.
- You can erase your data at any time from within the app or by contacting us.
2. Data the app stores
DoseTracker stores only what you enter while using it:
- Treatment profile: your medication, dose, injection schedule, units, height, weight, goal weight, date of birth, gender selection, activity level, goals and concerns you select during onboarding.
- Logs: shot entries (date, dose, injection site, optional pain level), weight entries, and symptom check-ins (symptoms, severity, optional notes).
- App preferences: language, reminder settings, and similar settings.
This is health-related data and we treat it as sensitive. The app does not collect your contacts, location, photos, or browsing activity.
3. Where your data lives
- On your device: all logs are stored locally so the app works offline.
- Cloud backup (anonymous): the app uses Firebase (Google Cloud) Anonymous Authentication to create a random identifier for your device — no email, phone number or name is involved — and syncs your logs to Google Cloud Firestore under that identifier so your data survives reinstalls and can stay in sync. Access rules restrict each anonymous identifier to its own data.
Because the identifier is anonymous, we have no way to look up "your" data by knowing who you are — and neither does anyone else.
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not show ads or embed advertising SDKs.
- We do not use your health data for marketing.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children. DoseTracker is intended for adults using prescribed medication.
5. Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the service:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Hosting) | Anonymous identity, encrypted data sync/backup, hosting this website | Anonymous ID, your logged app data |
| Apple (App Store, StoreKit) | App distribution and premium subscription billing | Handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we never see your payment details |
Data in transit is encrypted (TLS); data at rest is encrypted by Google Cloud's standard encryption.
6. Notifications
Injection reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Enabling them is optional and controlled by iOS notification permissions, which you can revoke at any time in Settings.
7. Exports you create
The doctor-report PDF is generated on your device. Where you send it (email, messages, print) is entirely under your control — treat it as you would any medical document.
8. Deleting your data
- In the app: "Reset onboarding" (Settings) disconnects the app from its previous anonymous identity and starts fresh; deleting the app removes all local data.
- Cloud erasure: to have the cloud copy erased, contact us at kaplanenes814@gmail.com from within the app's Support screen context (so we can identify the anonymous record to erase) and we will delete it within 30 days.
9. Your rights (GDPR / KVKK and similar laws)
Depending on where you live — including the EU (GDPR) and Türkiye (KVKK, Law No. 6698) — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the app holds no identity data, most requests are fulfilled through the deletion mechanisms above; for anything else, contact us and we will help.
10. Data retention
Synced data is retained while it remains associated with an active anonymous identity. Data orphaned by a reset, and data for which erasure is requested, is deleted in the normal course of operations.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
